At Inkfish we are committed to supporting a wide range of charities, as well as developing much-needed initiatives to support the local communities where we do business. National/International Charities supported include:
Local Charities The line-up of local charities that we support obviously varies from site to site, and also from year to year. While the individual events are naturally smaller than those for national charities, these do continue throughout the year. Local Community Involvement Programme Each local site within Domestic & General Group PLC operates a local community involvement (LCI) programme. On the basis of staff recommendation, the LCI programme creates links with carefully chosen local organisations… namely, those seen as actively enhancing the social and economic well-being of the local community. There’s often a specific emphasis on the young, elderly or the disadvantaged. The LCI programme then supports these groups ~ either financially or in terms of time donated. Note: Where the activities are not registered charities, payment will be made in cash from a budget per site of £500. The activities will be under the supervision of the site operations manager and coordinated centrally, and reported, through the Group’s charity committee. The donation level will be reviewed on a regular basis to identify any requirements for an increase in the funds made available. In addition, each site will be encouraged to play an active and constructive role in the local business arena through membership of local chambers of commerce or similar business coalition. The decision as to whether to participate and, if so, which business grouping, is the responsibility of the local site operations manager. Key criteria for making contributions Whenever and wherever contributions are made, we believe they should be: Appropriate: made in ways and on a scale that are appropriate in each business community. Compatible: compatible with the business interests and, whether actively promoted or not, should enhance the perception of the company as a good corporate citizen. Apolitical: not be made to organisations which are sponsored by or otherwise related to political parties. Flexible: not limited to financial support, contributions may also include non-cash contributions such as surplus equipment. |
