Inkfish leaps to ‘gym shift’ Inkfish Call Centre in Queens Square are introducing a ‘gym shift’, with a two-hour free fitness break, among many other flexible shift and part-time working patterns, to build their Post Office Customer Service teams and other blue-chip clients in 2006. A recent survey conducted for ACAS and the DTI showed that people wishing to switch from full to part time working had increased by nearly 20% in recent years. This has been borne out by an increase in applications to Inkfish for part-time work and the company is keen to respond quickly to this trend. Fitness fanatics (and those with aspirations) can join the gym shift, which includes a free two-hour workout in the gym (LA Fitness) in the middle of the working day. Inkfish HR Manager, Lucy Crowther, says: “This is a very attractive proposition for all of us and could suit the growing number of people taking their fitness very seriously.“ Many of the Inkfish accounts are operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week, meaning the opportunity for flexible optional shifts. Mums with young children can work from 8.00 am to 12.00 noon, or 10.00 am to 3.00 pm for examples and night shifts are also on offer from 8.00 pm to 8.00 am - but with just three nights on duty with four off. And, because the company is very keen to attract part timers, they are very happy to negotiate flexible shift patterns. Says Lucy: “With people seeking work life balance and many with important responsibilities outside work, we will bend over backwards to be a modern, people-centred employer, where people can fit in challenging and enjoyable careers around their life outside.” ENDS Editor's Notes:
