Inkfish helps Children In Need 150 staff and friends from Inkfish call centre in Stoke Road, Slough, joined Pudsey Bear to take calls from 6.30 pm on Friday 17 November to 12.30 am on Saturday morning 18 November to help with the BBC Children in Need appeal. The company, part of the Domestic & General Group, dealt with 2,700 calls donating £81 thousand, mostly from the Thames Valley area. This is the fifth year in succession that Inkfish staff have donated their free time to support Children in Need. Volunteers also arrived from other Domestic & General companies, including Redhill, Brighton and the Group’s head office in Wimbledon. The staff at Slough also raised £400 with a raffle including prizes such as DVD players, chocolates, wine and a TV donated by their clients. Local takeaway businesses including Pizza Hut, Greggs and Domino’s Pizza donated food to keep the volunteers going throughout the evening. Inkfish was delighted with the amount raised and were glad to be involved in what seems set to be a record-breaking event, with £18m raised so far (an increase of £1m from last year’s telephone total) for this worthy cause. - ends - NOTES FOR EDITORS Inkfish Call Centres Domestic & General For more information, please contact the D&G press office on 020 8879 8580 or email pressoffice@domgen.com
