Chrissy rises at Inkfish March 26, 200 - 22-year-old Chrissy Crowhurst has just been appointed an HR assistant at Inkfish’s Queen Square Call Centre, as the first step of her involvement in the company’s ‘Success Stories’ programme to fast track their next generation of leaders. Chrissy joined Inkfish three years ago as an agent on the Sky team and was encouraged to apply for ‘Success Stories’ after her successful performance. The selection process is tough and, besides some searching interviews, Chrissy had to write a report about an aspect of the company which interested her. Her report on Staff Recruitment and Retention, plus her interview, won her a place on the programme. Still with her Sky team for two days a week, Chrissy now works the rest of the week in HR where she is actively involved in recruiting new agents for the fast growing Sky account. She finds her experience as an agent there really helps in assessing candidates. “I love the job; no two days are the same and there’s so much to learn. I’m interviewing for new team members - although I was a bit nervous at first when I had to role play sales calls to see how people were likely to perform!” she says. “I’ve already passed the Institute of Leadership and Management’s Certificate of First Line Management and in September I’m hoping to start the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s Certificate of Personnel Practice at Brighton City College.” Her next ambition is to go full time in HR Warren Dipper, HR Adviser, says: “I was Chrissy’s mentor when she applied for the programme so I’m really pleased for her. ‘Success Stories’ is a great scheme for helping develop careers; we’ve already had some real successes and I’m sure that Chrissy will be another.” - ENDS - Editor's Notes:
