Inkfish farm for the community

Build a team, build a farm; that's the aim of an eleven strong group from Brighton call centre, Inkfish, when they head for the woods next Wednesday, 21st November - to Care Co-ops Community Farm, based in Stanmer Park, which gives work opportunities to mentally disadvantaged people.

Through the Brighton & Hove Business Community Partnership, local firms are invited to lend a hand on the farm, to help out with some of the bigger projects such as clearing woodland to keep the farm looking at its best. Besides helping a good cause, it's also a great opportunity for team building which Inkfish want to use to the full.

Farmers for the day will include some participants from Inkfish's "Success Stories" programme, where staff can join a fast track personal development scheme to start them on the path to management.

Howard Doney, Inkfish Internal Communications Advisor, who is organising the day, says: "Inkfish puts great emphasis on team work and leadership, which we think our day at the farm will help tremendously. Emma Riley, one of our Success Stories candidates, will be Team Leader for the day, developing her skills outside of the workplace. The farm does a wonderful job helping the mentally disadvantaged and we know every extra pair of hands can help the work they do. It'll be a great learning day out in the open air for us doing something very different."
